Democratic strategist James Carville has publicly excoriated former President Donald Trump and comedian Bill Maher, delivering a profanity-laced response to recent comments made by both figures. The outburst, occurring on the “Politics War Room” podcast, stemmed from Trump’s reaction to the death of Robert Mueller and Maher’s suggestion that Carville suffers from “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
Responding to Maher’s Criticism
Carville directly addressed Maher, stating, “Do me a favor, Bill. Endeavor to get your head out of Bari Weiss’s a–.” This retort followed Maher’s characterization of Carville as acting like a “crazy old man” consumed by “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” a viewpoint Maher argued is disconnected from everyday Americans.
Carville embraced the “crazy” label, asserting, “I’m going to agree with you. I’m crazy… a lot of people like me, we’re crazy.” He described a visceral reaction to the current political landscape, stating, “We wake up at 2 o’clock in the morning, throwing s— against the wall. I can’t believe this motherf—– is the President of the United States.”
Outrage Over Trump’s Reaction to Mueller’s Death
A central point of Carville’s anger was Trump’s reported reaction to the death of former FBI Director Robert Mueller. According to Carville, Trump said he was “glad” about Mueller’s passing. “Robert Mueller dies and Trump says, ‘I’m glad,’” Carville recounted. “Will you be stuck with being insane about this?”
“Sheer Rage” and Unwavering Opposition
Carville expressed a deep-seated rage towards the current state of the country, stating, “I’m going to be rips–t, I’m going to be throwing stuff, I’m going to be saying everything that you can’t,” and “Just sheer rage.” He called on others who share his feelings to stand together, recognizing “what this country was, we know what this country can be, we know what this country is today. And we hate every godd–n moment of it.”
He concluded by emphasizing his unwavering stance, saying, “We’re not going to change… we’re not going to back off, not one iota.”

The White House responded to Carville’s comments with a sharp rebuke. White House spokesperson Davis Ingle told Fox News Digital, “James Carville is a stone-cold loser who clearly suffers from a severe and debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has rotted his peanut-sized brain.”
