According to production notices released by the student film group, the 25-minute sci-fi romance explores a post-apocalyptic premise where humanity vanishes overnight, leaving only two survivors grappling with the mechanics of affection and survival.

A Post-Apocalyptic Plot Rooted in Forced Romance

The narrative follows Joo-hyuk, an ordinary man who wakes up to a depopulated world and decides to wrap up his bucket list before ending his life. His plans shift after he crosses paths with Seo-jung at a local supermarket. Faced with the reality that no other humans remain, Seo-jung proposes that the two attempt to fall in love to preserve humanity’s final spark. As they mimic romantic gestures—holding hands, embracing, and kissing—Joo-hyuk wrestles with whether genuine emotion can be manufactured out of sheer obligation and survival instinct.

Character Breakdown and Actor Requirements

Production is seeking a male actor in his mid-20s to portray Joo-hyuk. According to the character breakdown provided by ICBA, the role requires nuanced internal performance and restrained emotional expression to capture a character who transitions from numbness and nihilism to acknowledging the weight of human connection. The casting call specifically requests actors with a calm, melancholic aura, noting a preference for soft facial features offset by sharp underlying expressions.

Audition Schedule and Production Timeline

The student-led production has outlined a strict timeline for the project. Auditions will take place in person on the evening of Thursday, September 3. Filming is scheduled across multiple blocks on September 19, September 20, and October 3, with post-recording sessions slated for October 27. Shooting locations will cover the Seoul and Gyeonggi province regions.

Due to the project’s status as a student production, the total appearance fee is set at 270,000 KRW covering a three-session commitment. Applicants must submit their materials by 11:59 p.m. on August 28 via email. Submissions require the applicant’s name, age, contact information, residential area, professional profile and experience, available audition times, and an acting or self-introduction video. Email subject lines must follow a specific naming convention indicating the desired role, name, and age, such as [주혁]_홍길동_24.

Two-Round Evaluation and Script Distribution

The selection process consists of two rounds. First-round evaluations will review submitted profiles, photographs, and video clips. Successful applicants will receive individual email notifications regarding secondary in-person auditions, which will include advance distribution of the script.
