Cat That Vanished 14 Years Ago Reunited With Owner

Christmas arrived early for an Auckland man when he reunited with his cat, missing for 14 years.
Paul Myburgh’s family adopted Mo, a ginger tabby, from the SPCA in 2010. Myburgh describes Mo as an incredibly kind and charismatic cat who loved peopel and greeted them at the bus stop.
Mo frequently enough followed anyone offering attention or treats. Myburgh believes this friendliness contributed too his disappearance.
“He normally came home, but one day in 2011 he didn’t, and we were devastated. We distributed leaflets, contacted local vets, and posted on Auckland pets lost and found pages, but received no sightings or leads.”

For 14 years, Myburgh’s family held little hope for Mo’s return.
“Over time, as years passed, we believed we had lost him forever. We moved four years after he disappeared, and by then, we accepted he had either met with an unfortunate fate or wasn’t coming back.”
