The Québécois superstar will perform a series of 26 concerts over eight months in the French capital, beginning on September 11, 2026. According to Le Monde, the residency follows a six-year absence triggered by Dion’s 2022 public disclosure that she suffers from stiff-person syndrome (SPS), a rare neurological disorder causing muscle rigidity and spasms.
Fans gathered in large numbers ahead of the opening performance. According to Le Monde, nearly 10,000 people attended a giant community karaoke event on September 11 at the Place de la Bataille-de-Stalingrad, organized by the City of Paris to celebrate the singer’s return. Paris Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire noted to reporters that the immense demand left many without tickets, prompting the local government to organize open-air community events.
“We know that Celine Dion’s concert was a huge popular success. It’s difficult to get tickets, many people don’t have the pleasure of going,” Grégoire told reporters. “So we try to organise more events focused on fun and sharing a good time.”
Stiff-Person Syndrome and Recovery
Dion’s prolonged hiatus from touring began after she announced her diagnosis of stiff-person syndrome in 2022. According to news reports, SPS is a rare neurological condition characterized by chronic pain, heightened anxiety, and muscle spasms.
Despite having no cure, symptoms can be managed through various treatments. Dion made a high-profile return to the stage during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics, performing an Édith Piaf song from the Eiffel Tower. When announcing her residency in March of that year, Dion assured fans of her health status.
“This year, I’m getting the best birthday gift of my life. I’m getting the chance to see you, to perform for you once again,” Dion said in her March announcement. “I want to let you know that I’m doing great, managing my health, feeling good.”

Devoted followers traveled from across the globe to witness the comeback residency, camping outside the Royal Monceau hotel where Dion has been staying.
“We were supposed to see her in Finland five years ago, but she fell ill,” fan Hanna told Le Monde.
