Centrepoint Cuts Ties with Sharon Osbourne Over Tommy Robinson Support

Homelessness charity Centrepoint has announced it will cut ties with celebrity ambassador Sharon Osbourne after she publicly expressed support for a far-right rally organised by Tommy Robinson.

The decision follows an Instagram comment by Osbourne on a post about the “Unite the Kingdom” rally, where she wrote: “See you at the march.” The event, scheduled for 16 May in London, is being organised by Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, better known as Tommy Robinson.

Centrepoint, which has the Prince of Wales as its patron, stated that Osbourne’s support for the rally does not align with its values. A spokesperson for the charity said: “This sort of event does not align with our values.” They added that Centrepoint has “a proud history of supporting young people whatever their background, ethnicity or religion” and emphasized the require for a society where young people can “live without fear and able to access the opportunities they need to start education or work and leave homelessness behind.”

The charity confirmed it has “no plans to work together in the future” with Osbourne. While she had been referred to as an ambassador in the context of Centrepoint’s Omaze campaign—a sweepstake offering a chance to win a £5 million home overlooking Lake Windermere and £250,000 in cash—Centrepoint clarified that she was not an official ambassador for the organisation.

Osbourne, whose husband Ozzy Osbourne died in July 2024 at the age of 76, had previously supported the charity through this campaign. The rally in question follows a similar event in September that drew between 110,000 and 150,000 attendees.
