Alex, a mother to eight-month-old Teddy and a three-year-old daughter, Elsie, expressed her shock at the diagnosis. “I was really shocked. I had no symptoms at all,” she shared with PEOPLE. Alex received the heartbreaking news on Christmas Day that her illness was terminal, with a prognosis of six months to two years to live.
