Chanel West Coast Blends Country and Pop with New Single “Giddy Up”
Chanel West Coast, known for her decade-long run on MTV’s Ridiculousness, is forging a new path in the music industry with the release of her latest single, “Giddy Up.” The track, which dropped on February 13, 2026, features DJ Flict and marks West Coast’s foray into country music after exiting the popular MTV reveal in 2023.
A Fusion of Genres
West Coast describes “Giddy Up” as a country-pop record designed to appeal to a broad audience. “‘Giddy Up’ is a country-pop record, but it’s really about bridging worlds,” she explained in a statement to FanFix shared with E! News. “I wanted it to feel familiar to country fans while still hitting for pop, hip-hop, and dance listeners too. It’s meant to be the kind of song you put on to have a good time. Music should bring people together, and with ‘Giddy Up,’ I just wanted to make something that feels good no matter what genre you usually listen to.”
The song blends country elements with a subtle hip-hop beat, and its chorus includes the lyrics, “Giddy up / Get up on that thang,” and “Tighten up on them reigns.”
