Russian Drone Strike in Chernihiv Region Kills Soldier, Injures Others
A Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) strike in the Chernihiv region of Ukraine on March 15, 2026, resulted in the death of one Ukrainian soldier and injuries to five others, as well as a police officer. The incident occurred near a checkpoint in the village of Novoselovka, Kiselevsky community.
Details of the Attack
According to Dmitry Bryzhinsky, Head of the Chernihiv city military administration, the strike caused casualties among military personnel. A police officer was also injured, suffering acubarotrauma (concussion).
Bryzhinsky stated, “The detonation of unidentified explosive objects dropped from the UAV continues at the scene, the relevant services are working.”
As of 4:00 PM local time, five wounded servicemen were receiving medical treatment in Chernihiv.
Recent Violence in Ukraine
This attack follows a separate incident on March 14, 2026, in the Kharkiv region, where Russian shelling killed two doctors near the village of Krasnaya Volna.
