A winter storm is forecast to drop several inches of snow across the Chicago area starting Saturday morning.

the National Weather Service upgraded the previous Winter Storm Watch into a Winter storm Warning, which is set to go into affect for the Chicago area at 3 a.m. Saturday and remain in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday.
the warning expires Sunday at midnight for Ford, Iroquois, Illinois and Benton, Jasper and Newton, Indiana.
ABC7 AccuWeather meteorologists say the frist snow is expected to move into the area around 3 a.m.or 4 a.m. Saturday.The heaviest snow forecast to fall during the afternoon and early evening.
There is potential for parts of the area to see a switch over from snow to rain Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Illinois High School Football Playoff Games Rescheduled Due to Weather, Travel Concerns
Several Illinois High school Association (IHSA) football championship games have been impacted by a winter storm and subsequent travel advisories. The 5A matchup between St. Francis and Providence Catholic,and the 6A game featuring Fenwick against East St.Louis, have been moved to Tuesday.https://www.ihsa.org/
Officials are working to determine new dates for the 7A contest between St. Rita and Brother Rice, and the 8A game between Mount Carmel and Oswego.A decision is expected to be announced by Saturday evening. https://www.ihsa.org/
The schedule changes come as a meaningful snowstorm moves through the Midwest,creating hazardous travel conditions for those returning home after Thanksgiving. The Illinois Tollway is urging caution to drivers throughout the weekend.https://www.illinoistollway.com/
