Chicago Warming Centers Open During cold Weather

The City of Chicago is activating it’s network of warming centers as cold weather is forecast to impact the area from Wednesday through Friday.

Several community service centers will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., including:

* Englewood Community service Center – 1140 West 79th Street
* Garfield Community Service Center – 10 South Kedzie Avenue
* Dr. Martin Luther King Community Service center – 4314 South Cottage Grove
* North Area Community Service Center – 845 West Wilson Avenue
* South Chicago Community Service Center – 8650 South Commercial avenue
* trina Davila Community Service Center – 4312 West North Avenue

Additional warming center locations include:

* DFSS Senior Centers: All 21 Senior Centers are open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the exception of the Renaissance Court senior Center, which is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A list of locations can be found at https://www.chicago.gov/seniorcenters or by calling 3-1-1.
* Chicago Public Library locations, during regular operating hours.
* Chicago Park District locations, during regular operating hours.
* City Colleges of Chicago locations, during regular operating hours.
* Chicago Police Districts, which are open 24 hours a day.
