Chipotle Mexican Grill announced on September 28, 2026, the launch of its “Summon the Spirits Tour,” a five-city pop-up series that brings back the brand’s original margarita recipe for $6 ahead of the annual Boorito Halloween tradition. The limited-time drink features five real ingredients—premium tequila, triple sec, citrus juice, agave nectar, and a fresh lime wedge—responding to years of social media demand from fans requesting the return of the discontinued menu item.
The Return of the Original Chipotle Margarita Recipe
For years, customers kept the discontinued beverage alive online through nostalgic TikTok videos, throwback photos, and direct requests for its return, according to Chipotle Mexican Grill. Fans frequently posted comments on social media declaring that the drinks were a favorite and that the restaurant chain needed to bring them back.

“Fans never stopped talking about our margaritas after they left the menu, so Halloween felt like the perfect time to revive a Chipotle classic,” said Stephanie Perdue, Senior Vice President of Brand Marketing, in a company statement. “For five weekends, we’re giving fans the chance to rediscover the iconic Chipotle Margarita, made with just five real ingredients and the same simplicity we bring to our food.”
The beverage contains no artificial flavors or mixes, relying entirely on premium tequila, triple sec, citrus juice, agave nectar, and a fresh lime wedge. Guests aged 21 and older can purchase the drink for $6 during the pop-up events.
