Veteran South Korean actor Choi Bul-am, 86, is facing health challenges, sparking concern among his peers and fans. News of his declining health was shared by fellow actor Park Eun-soo during a recent broadcast.
Park Eun-soo Expresses Worry
Actor Park Eun-soo revealed his concerns about Choi Bul-am’s well-being while appearing on the MBN program “Scoop World” on February 19th, 2026 . Park, who worked alongside Choi Bul-am on the long-running MBC drama “Country Diary,” expressed sadness over the health of many senior actors.
“Now, all of the seniors who are here just a few days ago are about to pass away or are in bad condition. Choi Bul-am is not doing well right now, and anyway, all of the seniors are in poor health, so I don’t know how to look at him,” Park Eun-soo stated .
A Long and Illustrious Career
Choi Bul-am began his acting career in 1967 with the KBS drama “Grand Prince Suyang” . He has since appeared in numerous productions, including “Investigation Team Leader” and the beloved “Country Diary.”
For 14 years, Choi Bul-am hosted the KBS1 program “Korean’s Table,” traveling the country to showcase Korean food culture. He voluntarily stepped down from the program last year, with the production team stating he wished to pass the role on to a younger colleague .
Im Hyun-sik’s Grief and Reflection
The broadcast similarly featured actor Im Hyun-sik, who shared his grief over the recent passing of another senior actor, Lee Soon-jae. Im Hyun-sik recounted his inability to attend Lee Soon-jae’s funeral, expressing his emotional distress . Park Eun-soo, in turn, expressed concern for Im Hyun-sik’s own health, noting that he appeared unwell .
Both Park Eun-soo and Im Hyun-sik are 80 years old.
