Veteran wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer stated, “As noted many times, this one is a jericho decision and all hints are in the WWE direction.I know that WWE has offered him a retirement storyline, and those in WWE have said that’s what they’d be interested in. Tony Khan Remains hopeful of Retaining Jericho in AEW
While WWE appears eager to welcome Jericho back, AEW President Tony khan is actively working to retain the veteran performer.Khan has consistently praised Jericho’s contributions to AEW since it’s inception in 2019, highlighting his dedication and commitment when actively involved with the promotion.
During a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Khan expressed his desire to re-sign Jericho, stating, “I absolutely hope we’ll get Chris back in. A star like Chris Jericho, you negotiate a certain number of dates. Chris has always been really great about being one of those wrestlers in AEW that when he’s in, he’s all the way in.”
Jericho’s last televised appearance for AEW occurred in April, where he dramatically disbanded The Learning Tree, leaving Bryan Keith and Big Bill to compete as a duo.He hasn’t wrestled in a WWE ring since his surprise appearance in the 2018 Royal Rumble.
