Christina Brennan, Longtime Midwest Radio Personality, Dies at 86

Christina (Chris) Brennan, a beloved figure in Irish radio, has died peacefully at the Mayo Hospice in Castlebar, County Mayo, on March 16, 2026, at the age of 86. She is remembered as a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, and a cherished member of the Ballina community.

A Life Well-Lived

Born Christina Keating in Tuam, County Galway, Chris Brennan was predeceased by her parents, James and Christina Keating, as well as her siblings Jimmie, Hughie, and Elizabeth, and her infant children Hazel and Raymond. She is survived by her husband, Raymond (Ray) Brennan, and her three daughters, Michelle, Audrey, and Lorraine.

Brennan is as well survived by her sons-in-law, Paul and David, and Michelle’s partner, Cali. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for her grandchildren, Lee, Zoe, Joshua, Adam, Max, and Sam, as well as numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing will be held at McGowan’s Funeral Home in Ballina on Friday, March 20th, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral will proceed to St. Muredach’s Cathedral, Ballina, on Saturday, March 21st, for a Requiem Mass at 11:30 AM. Following the Mass, a cremation will take place at McGowan’s Crematorium and Funeral Home in Collooney, County Sligo (Eircode F91 AKW5).

Donations and Condolences

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Mayo Roscommon Hospice c/o McGowan’s Funeral Home, Ballina. The family has requested privacy at their home during this demanding time. Messages of condolence can be left for the family online.

Raymond Keating

Raymond “Ray” Joseph Keating Jr., born in 1959 in Phoenix, Arizona, and a member of the class of 1978, is also a member of the Brennan family. Further information about Raymond Keating can be found on Facebook.
