A somber atmosphere surrounded Karoline Simpson-larsen during Saturday’s Tour de Ski competition in Toblach. The Norwegian skier, 28, has been coping with a difficult period following the tragic death of sivert Bakken on Christmas Eve.

Simpson-Larsen was staying at the Hotel Dolomiti in Lavaze when Bakken was found deceased. She is also the girlfriend of biathlete Johan-Olav Botn,who was part of the recruiting team with Bakken,adding to the personal impact of the loss.
