‘Can I Kick It?’ Returns to Baltimore with Live Hip-Hop Soundtrack

Baltimore audiences will have the chance to experience a unique cinematic event with the return of “Can I Kick It?” featuring Tamara Dobson’s 1973 blaxploitation classic, Cleopatra Jones, accompanied by a live hip-hop soundtrack. The screening is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, at 7:30 p.m. In The Theater at Creative Alliance.

“Can I Kick It?” is designed for fans of cult classic action films, Kung-Fu flicks, and the music they inspire. Each scene is scored live by DJ 2-Tone Jones, who blends Hip Hop, Soul, and Rock to create a dynamic and immersive experience. Creative Alliance describes Dobson as commanding the screen as a “statuesque special agent taking down drug lords with style, swagger, and serious martial arts skills.”

Cleopatra Jones, released in 1973, is celebrated for its high-octane action, killer fashion, and unapologetic Black power feminism.
