Colorado Mesa Women’s Basketball Secures RMAC Title, Heads into Tournament as Top Seed

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The No. 4 Colorado Mesa women’s basketball team clinched a share of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) regular season title with a dominant 90-47 victory over Westminster on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. This win too secures the Mavericks the No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

Dominant Performance Secures Championship

The Mavericks finished the regular season with a 27-1 overall record and a perfect 17-0 mark in RMAC play. They hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over Adams State, securing their position at the top of the conference standings. This marks the third consecutive regular season title for Colorado Mesa and their 13th with eight titles coming under current head coach Taylor Wagner.

First Quarter Sets the Tone

Colorado Mesa established a commanding lead early, racing to a 30-9 advantage in the first quarter. A three-pointer by Mason Rowland with 48 seconds remaining in the frame extended the lead to 21 points. The Mavericks continued their strong performance throughout the game, building a 50-point lead in the fourth quarter after a three-pointer by Brooke Harding.

Statistical Highlights

The Mavericks shot 52 percent from the field, going 16-for-19 from the free throw line and making eight three-point baskets. They dominated the boards with a +16 rebounding margin (43-27) and capitalized on 16 Westminster turnovers, converting them into 27 points. Colorado Mesa committed only eight turnovers, resulting in just five points for the Griffins.
