Cojedes State Bolsters Public Health with Expanded Immunization and Medical Supply Deliveries

Cojedes State, Venezuela is experiencing a significant boost to its public health infrastructure through recent deliveries of medical supplies, medicines and vaccines. Recent Medical Supply Deliveries

A substantial shipment of medical supplies and medicines has recently arrived in Cojedes state, intended to strengthen both Primary and Hospital Care Networks. Expanded Vaccination Program

The Bolivarian Government, through the MPPS, has incorporated 90,750 new vaccines into the state’s immunization plan. MPPS details that the vaccines include doses against Yellow Fever, Toxoide, BCG (Tuberculosis), SRP (Measles, Rubella, and Parotitis), IPV (Poliomyelitis), and Pentavalent (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Pneumonia due to Influenza type b, and Hepatitis B). This expansion aims to reinforce prevention and care programs, with a focus on providing free and timely coverage to the population, including pregnant women, the elderly, and children.

Focus on Healthcare Worker Protection

In a proactive measure to protect healthcare workers, over 50 employees of the Regional Health Directorate’s central plant in Cojedes state were immunized against Yellow Fever on March 5th. This initiative, part of a national campaign, seeks to ensure the safety of administrative and healthcare personnel, thereby strengthening the Public Health System’s response capacity. The immunization efforts were simultaneously extended to the Dr. José Gregorio Hernández Maternity Hospital in the Rómulo Gallegos municipality, where 45 workers received their vaccinations.

Addressing Insulin Needs

The National Government distributed nearly 2,000 doses of NPH and crystalline insulin to diabetic patients in Cojedes during the second quarter of 2025. Mazo News reports that the regional director of Health of Cojedes, Dr. Manuel Rodríguez, stated the government plans to ensure adequate insulin availability throughout 2025.
