College of Charleston Volleyball Adds Finnish Outside Hitter Laura Sarajarvi to 2026 Roster
CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston volleyball program has announced the signing of Laura Sarajarvi, an outside hitter from Tampere, Finland, to its 2026 roster. Head coach Jason Kepner expressed his excitement about adding Sarajarvi’s talent and experience to the team.
Sarajarvi’s Background and Achievements
Sarajarvi joins the Cougars after a successful run with the Finnish U20 squad, where she earned a silver medal in 2025. Prior to her international experience, she competed in high school volleyball at Oriveden Lukio, securing a silver medal in the 2024 tournament.
Coach Kepner’s Perspective
“I am really excited about the addition of Laura to our roster for the fall,” said Kepner. “She is a very experienced player who can attack from anywhere on the net. She is a 6’3″ skilled athlete who can swing high with a lot of power. I am looking forward to coaching her and getting her in our gym. The more we talked, the more excited I got about her. She is a great person, who is very motivated and will fit into our culture and gym right away.”
