Travis Baldree and Stars of Sci-Fi and Fantasy to Headline Prague Comic-Con

Prague will host its seventh annual Comic-Con, bringing together fans of comics, science fiction, and fantasy. This year’s event will feature author and narrator Travis Baldree, alongside actors known for their roles in popular franchises like Lord of the Rings, Farscape, Stargate, Game of Thrones, and One Piece. The festival is set to capture place at the O2 universe, utilizing four floors, with two dedicated to video games.

Guest Lineup

The event organizers, Active Radio, have curated a guest list appealing to multiple generations of fans. Notable attendees include:

  • Travis Baldree: Author of the fantasy novel Legends & Lattes and a prolific audiobook narrator, known for narrating the Cradle series by Will Wight. Learn more about Travis Baldree
  • Billy Boyd: Best known for his role as Peregrin “Pippin” Took in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.
  • Ben Browder and Claudia Black: Stars of the cult sci-fi series Farscape and Stargate SG-1.

  • Giancarlo Esposito: Emmy Award-winning actor known for his roles in Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and The Mandalorian.
  • Craig Fairbrass and Vincent Regan: Actors who appeared in the live-action adaptation of the anime series One Piece on Netflix.
  • Jiří Lábus: A prominent Czech actor with a diverse career in theater, film, television, and voice acting.
  • Jaroslav Satoranský: A celebrated Czech acting legend.

Beyond the Guests: Gaming, Exhibitions, and More

Comic-Con Prague will offer a comprehensive program beyond celebrity appearances. Over 100 gaming locations will be available across two floors, offering visitors the chance to try out gaming computers and consoles. The festival will also host one of the largest board game events in the Czech Republic, known as Deskohern, featuring over five dozen tables dedicated to both new and established board games. Dedicated areas will also be available for card games like Star Wars, Lorcan, and Pokémon, as well as miniature war games.

Visitors can also explore thematic exhibitions, including a display of over 30 metal sculptures by Jakub Čavoj, inspired by pop culture phenomena, ranging in size from 30 centimeters to two-meter monuments.

Event Details

Last year’s Comic-Con Prague attracted over 23,000 attendees. The first Comic-Con was held in the USA in 1970. A separate event, Comic-Con Junior, geared towards younger fans, takes place annually in Brno.
