Conor McGregor Claims UFC Contract is “Void” Due to New Paramount Deal

Conor McGregor has stated his current contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is effectively void, citing the institution’s new media rights deal with Paramount.

“I’m warming up now for the White House fight,” McGregor said, hinting at a potential event. “I’m gonna be at it, without a doubt. It’s gonna be insane, the White House card is gonna be.”

The former two-division UFC champion explained his contract was heavily reliant on pay-per-view (PPV) revenue. “My contract, essentially, is void right now as there’s no more PPV, whereas my contract was based on PPV sales,” he stated. “I’m the highest-generating PPV fighter of all time. The PPV system is done. I’m due a new contract.”

This claim stems from the UFC’s recently announced multi-billion dollar media rights agreement with Paramount Global. the deal, finalized in january 2024, is reportedly worth $7 billion over ten years, substantially increasing the UFC’s revenue streams beyond traditional PPV buys.
