Cooper Flagg’s Rookie Jersey Fetches Record $1 Million at Auction

Cooper Flagg’s NBA debut jersey was sold privately through Sotheby’s earlier this month for $1 million, the auction house announced on February 15, 2026.

The sale price represents a record for any collectible related to the Dallas Mavericks forward, occurring mid-way through his rookie season. As of February 19, 2026, Flagg is averaging 20.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists for the Mavericks.

“The $1 million result for Cooper Flagg’s rookie debut jersey is a powerful testament to the significance collectors place on true ‘first moments’ in sport,” said Brahm Wachter, Sotheby’s Head of Modern Collectibles, in a statement. “This jersey captures the very beginning of a special career, one carrying huge expectations and excitement.”

Flagg’s jersey from his Summer League debut sold in August for $95,250 in a Sotheby’s auction.

Sotheby’s is the official game-worn partner of the NBA, and typically offers jerseys from significant games in public auctions. A notable example is the 2023 sale of Victor Wembanyama’s debut jersey for $762,000. However, Sotheby’s has recently adopted a more strategic approach to its inventory, retaining jerseys with high potential for increased value.

Collectors have the opportunity to bid on other key rookie debut jerseys this month, as Sotheby’s will auction off game-worn items from the first games of VJ Edgecombe, Kon Knueppel, Dylan Harper, Derik Queen, and others, with bidding opening on February 19, 2026.
