Cork Pub Scene Sees Wave of Sales, Including Reidy’s Vault and Bull McCabes
Cork City’s hospitality sector is experiencing a surge in pub sales, with landmark venues Reidy’s Vault Bar and Bull McCabes recently changing ownership. Several other establishments, including The Grange and Paddy the Farmers, are likewise involved in ongoing transactions, signaling a robust start to the hospitality investment market in 2026.
Landmark Pubs Change Hands
Reidy’s Vault Bar, located on Western Road, and Bull McCabes are among the prominent pubs sold in recent weeks. The sale of The Grange is expected to finalize shortly, exceeding its initial guide price of €1 million. These sales follow the earlier transaction of The Wilton bar, which was acquired by Cork-based publican Paul Montgomery for over €3 million at the beginning of the year.
Other Notable Transactions
Paddy the Farmers has accepted an offer of €1.9 million, while discussions are underway with a Dublin-based restaurant operator regarding Tequila Jack’s, a Mexican restaurant and tequila bar on Lapps Quay, which is guiding at €1.3 million.
Broader Market Trends
The increase in pub disposals builds upon a strong beginning to the hospitality investment market in 2026. The sellers of Tequila Jacks and Paddy the Farmers are the Seán McCarthy-led local hospitality group, who previously sold Soho bar/restaurant on Grand Parade in 2023 for a reported €5 million.
Reidy’s Vault to Turn into Second City Restaurant
Plans are in place for established restaurant operators to take over Reidy’s, with intentions to open a second city restaurant at the 15 Lancaster Quay/Western Rd venue before the conclude of the year.
