Coronation Street actress Nikki Sanderson and her partner Anthony Quinlan announced they are expecting their first child.

The 41-year-old, known for her role as Candice Stowe in the ITV soap, revealed her pregnancy on Christmas Day, using her Christmas tree as a festive backdrop.

In an interview with The Mirror, Nikki and Anthony shared that their path to parenthood involved “lots of ups and downs” but is now worthwhile with a baby on the way.

Nikki and Anthony explained they had been trying to conceive for two years and had begun exploring IVF options when they discovered they were pregnant.

The actress stated,”We’ve had a lot of ups and downs in our journey to becoming parents,and it’s been really hard on us.”

“But now, waiting for our stunning baby to arrive, it’s just incredible… But being where we are now makes all the ups and downs worth it.”
