Two Young People Killed in Calabria Car Accident

Chiara Garofalo and Antonio Graziadio, both 20 years old, died last night in a devastating accident at the Stombi intersection in Cassano allo Ionio (Cosenza). The intersection connects state roads 534 (Cammarata-Stombi) and 106.

Investigators are still piecing together the exact sequence of events. However, initial reports indicate an Alfa Romeo Mito, carrying two occupants and traveling from Corigliano-Rossano, collided with a Fiat Panda. The Mito was turning onto state road 534 when it struck the Panda, which had four young people inside and was coming from Sibari.Sadly, ther was nothing rescuers could do for Chiara and Antonio.

Two other individuals sustained serious injuries. A 16-year-old and an 18-year-old were transported to the hospital in Cosenza, where their condition is currently listed as critical.
