Oklahoma State Women’s Tennis Defeats West Virginia 6-1

STILLWATER, Okla. – The No. 26 ranked Oklahoma State women’s tennis team secured a dominant 6-1 victory over West Virginia on Friday at the Greenwood Tennis Center, improving their record to 4-4 overall and 1-0 in Big 12 play.

Cowgirls Snap Losing Streak, Maintain Perfect Record Against Mountaineers

This win ended a two-match losing streak for Oklahoma State and marked their first home win of the season. The Cowgirls also extended their all-time record against West Virginia to 11-0.

Doubles Play Sets the Tone

Oklahoma State claimed the doubles point for the sixth time this season. A court three doubles match was forfeited due to player availability. Olivia Lincer and Luca Udvardy defeated Lyla Byers and Audrey Moutama 6-0. Anastasiya Komar and Rose Marie Nijkamp secured the doubles point with a 6-2 win over Lucia Tognoni and Villaneuva Morillo, improving their doubles record to 5-1 this season.

Singles Competition Seals the Victory

The Cowgirls won five of the six singles matches. A court six singles match was forfeited due to player availability. No. 24 Rose Marie Nijkamp defeated Julie Bousseau 6-1, 6-3. Luca Udvardy continued her strong form, defeating Sazana Kudlackova 6-1, 6-3, for her fourth consecutive singles win. Anastasiya Komar clinched the match for Oklahoma State with a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Laura Villanueva Morillo, marking her first singles win of the season.

Melisa Ercan added a point with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Lyla Byers on court five. No. 40 Olivia Lincer completed the scoring with a 6-3, 6-2 victory against Audrey Moutama.
