Colonial Updates Baton Rouge Bengal Nomination Process for 2026

Colonial Pipeline Shifts Bengal Origin Nominations Process Starting With Cycle 50

Effective September 1, 2026, Colonial Pipeline is discontinuing the Colonial–Bengal Joint Tariff, triggering mandatory changes to the Colonial nominations process for Bengal origins, according to an advisory from colpipe.com. The operational update impacts only the Colonial nominations system, leaving the Bengal nominations system unchanged.

Under the new procedure, inbound nominations to Colonial from Bengal on Transport4 will require a “Transfer Receipt” event type rather than the traditional Receipt (RCP) event type. Shippers must ensure each nomination links directly to the correct Bengal supplier nomination. The updated system supports these modifications for existing nominations starting August 26, 2026, ahead of Colonial Cycle 50.

Updating Existing Nominations For Cycle 50

All existing nominations starting with Cycle 50 must be updated to comply with the new tariff structure. Shippers creating a new batch in Transport4 must designate “Transfer Receipt” as the origin event type. The system requires the “Sup/Con” and “Link Shipper” fields to share the exact same code, while “Tankage” must remain set to “BEN.”

Additional batch requirements dictate that “Link Product” matches the product type within the batch code, and “Link Cycle” remains set to “00.” Shippers must designate “Link Sequence” using the specific Bengal origin linked code provided by the supplier as B, N, or G.

Unaffected Baton Rouge Origins

The nomination process changes apply exclusively to Bengal origins. Volumes lifting out of other Colonial Baton Rouge origins experience no procedural alterations. Unaffected items include:

  • ELS
  • CPC Baton Rouge Dock
  • Marathon Zachary

Cycle 50 Implementation Timeline

System support for updating existing nominations opens August 26, 2026. The discontinuation of the joint tariff and the formal requirement for the new event types take effect September 1, 2026, coinciding with Colonial Cycle 50.
