Belgian Committee for Peace in Venezuela, Latin America, and the Caribbean Established

On Friday, November 28, 2025, the Venezuelan Embassy in Brussels initiated the formation of a Belgian committee dedicated to promoting Peace in Venezuela, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
Formation and Participating Organizations
The inaugural meeting brought together representatives from a diverse range of organizations, including:
- The International Humanist Party in Belgium
- The Belgian Labor Party
- The Communist party of Belgium
- The NATO Surveillance Committee
- Intal
- Collective Identity Freedom
- Global Anti-Imperialism Platform
- Latin American coordination
- The Moroccan Committee against the normalization of relations with Israel
Joint Declaration and Core Principles
Participants discussed and expressed their support for a joint declaration outlining the committee’s foundational principles. Thes principles center around:
- Peace: A commitment to peaceful resolutions and conflict prevention.
- International Law: Respect for established international legal frameworks.
- Sovereignty and Self-Determination: Upholding the right of peoples to determine their own political status and pursue their own advancement.
- Demilitarization: Opposition to the increasing militarization of international relations.
- Anti-Imperialism: Resistance to policies of domination and interference by powerful nations.
- Social Justice: Rejection of austerity measures and defense of social achievements and public services.
- Environmental Protection: Commitment to respecting and protecting the habitat and the planet.
