Concordia University Irvine Women’s Tennis Falls to Middlebury in Tuesday Match

IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine women’s tennis team faced a tough opponent in Middlebury on Tuesday, ultimately falling with a score of 7-0.

Doubles Competition

Bryn Johnson and Keona Gutierrez Dearmond put up a strong fight at the No. 1 doubles position, but were defeated 6-2. The Panthers secured wins in the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches with scores of 6-0 in both.

Singles Performances

Bryn Johnson competed in the No. 1 singles slot, battling through extended rallies and demonstrating consistency from the baseline, but ultimately lost her match 6-2, 6-3.

Kristyna Dvorakova showcased a competitive performance at No. 2 singles, staying within striking distance in both sets before falling 6-3, 7-5.

Keona Gutierrez Dearmond secured two games in each set at the No. 3 position. Mikayla Avila and Ashley Aziz competed in the No. 4 and No. 5 singles slots, respectively, but Middlebury prevailed in both matches. Mianna Robinson closed out singles play at No. 6, earning a game in the second set.

Upcoming Match

The Golden Eagles will conclude their home season on Friday, March 27, at 1:00 PM at the Racquet Club in Irvine.
