An 18-year-old cyclist was hit by a motorist in Eindhoven on Saturday night. This happened at an intersection where Eisenhowerlaan turns into the A270.
The victim was launched and seriously injured. After the collision, the motorist drove onto the highway towards Helmond. She later reported to the police. The driver appeared to be drunk. She has been arrested and is being interrogated.
Due to the seriousness of the victim’s situation, a trauma helicopter came to Eindhoven. This landed next to the A270.
The intersection and the highway from Eindhoven to Helmond are closed to traffic so that the police can investigate.
