Czech Biathletes Compete in Online Biathlon Endurance Race

After the performance of the women on Tuesday in difficult, windy conditions, the men’s first individual race of the season awaits in Östersund. Only four Czech representatives will start, with the recovered Jonáš Mareček joining them after missing the opening relay due to a cold. However, Jakub Štvrtecký will be spared due to minor health complications.

“He didn’t even train on Monday. It wouldn’t make sense. We’d rather save him for Saturday’s sprint,” explained men’s coach Michael Málek on the Czech biathlon website, adding that he is pleased with Mareček’s recovery. “Feeling better and better,” he said.

Michal Krčmář, who started the season with his teammates in seventh place in the relay, will be the first to set off on the twenty-kilometer long track at 15:40 with starting number 20. “Of course, it can always be better, but we fell a little short. Three and a half minutes after Krčmář, the recovered Jonáš Mareček will start the race with number 27, and at 15:49 with number 38, last season’s standout performer Vítězslav Hornig will begin, after taking fifth place in Sunday’s mixed relay alongside Krčmář, Terezá Voborníková, and markéta davidová.
