Competition program StarDance with presenters Mark Eben and Tereza Kostková returns to the screen Czech Television. The show, licensed from the BBC, works like the proverbial red rag to a bull, supported by a pitchfork up the ass. It is watched by almost half of all television stations’ viewers, and every second viewer, which is 56%, is curious about the announcement of the results.
If we look at the Czech Television figures, we find that news and current affairs have a 5% viewership, while entertainment has three times more (16%) and children’s programs reach 30%. The question remains why programs like StarDance should be paid for by concessionaires or the state, when critics object: What’s public about producing celebrities? People would watch that on commercial television too
.

Viewership, funding and public debate
The published debates on public television and radio point out that they have become a political issue due to the prevailing political orientation of the news and current affairs sections of both media outlets, which lean towards a position traditionally described as liberal. Critics argue why people should pay for this directly as concessionaires, or indirectly through taxes through the state budget.
A fashion look back at the first evening
The dance competition is a big social event with its own fashion rules. More was expected from Tereza Kostková; critical opinions appeared about the presenter’s hairstyle and accessories. According to fans, the unmistakable bun, bangs and obviously lightened hair unnecessarily add years to her age, which also applies to the massive red earrings and bracelet. On the other hand, juror Tatiana Drexler and newcomer to the jury, choreographer Jana Burkiewiczová, really scored fashionably in beautiful evening gowns. Actress Sara Prachař Sandeva was supported by her family, including her mother-in-law Dana Batulková and sister-in-law, influencer Mariana Prachařová. Mariana Prachařová chose a dress resembling a nightgown with an oversized jacket, while her mother wore a shiny model with a flowing skirt and belt, which she complemented with red lipstick and a manicure in the same tone. Actress Lucie Benešová and her 14-year-old daughter Lara also chose black, coming to cheer on Tomáš Matonoh; Lara wore a simple black dress with spaghetti straps, and Lucie Benešová wore black pants with a delicately shimmering top. Marek Eben chose a black tuxedo, while judge Richard Genzer wore a dark green velvet jacket.

Season 14 schedule and finale
