New Year’s Eve is behind us for another year. Many people spent it in front of the television. viewership of two longer shows exceeded the million viewer mark, with the winner broadcast on Nova TV, watched by 1.2 million Czechs.
During New Year’s Eve, televisions primarily aim to entertain. the TV show *Nova* and the entertaining New year’s Eve show on Czech TV, *Všechnopárty*, competed for third place in evening viewership. Karel Šíp’s talk show has been broadcast continuously since 2005. The popular presenter usually invites three guests from among famous artists, athletes, and other engaging industries. In addition to the regular episodes, which usually last around 50 minutes, a New Year’s Eve episode is also broadcast periodically.

The New Year’s Eve special entertainment show awaited the audience during the celebrations of the arrival of 2026. Karel Šíp invited three actors to the last episode of last year: Štěpán Kozub, Miroslav Hanuš, and Eva leinweberová.
Štěpán Kozub told a funny story about why he stopped drinking alcohol. Eva Leinweberová spoke about her honeymoon with her ex-husband, and Miroslav Hanuš also shared amusing anecdotes. Nevertheless, this show didn’t reach the top of the ratings, attracting just over a million viewers.The customary midnight anthem of the Czech Republic took first place in viewership, with over 1,400,000 viewers. *New Year’s wishes* followed,and the broadcast of *Silvestrovské televizní noviny* on Nova TV took third place. It was broadcast from 19:30 and was seen by just under 1,200,000 viewers.
