Daan Alferink to Open Antwerp Coffee Bar, Bar Boel, This Spring

Antwerp is set to welcome a new hotspot this spring as interieur stylist and television personality Daan Alferink prepares to open the doors of his coffee bar, Bar Boel. Located on the Karel de Preterlei, near the Boelaerpark, the café is a long-held dream for Alferink and his partner, Stijn.

From TV Sets to Coffee Beans

Alferink gained prominence as a stylist on the RTL program Blind Gekocht and showcased his culinary skills on Celebrity MasterChef Vlaanderen. He has also cultivated a significant following on TikTok with his humorous videos. Bar Boel represents a shift towards a personal passion project for the media figure.

Overcoming Hurdles to Launch

The journey to opening Bar Boel hasn’t been without its challenges. Initial plans to open in September 2025 were delayed due to difficulties securing the necessary permits. However, Alferink announced on Instagram that they are now working towards an opening date at the finish of April or beginning of May. P-Magazine reports that Alferink and Stijn shared a video on Instagram and TikTok showcasing the new logo being applied to the café’s windows.

A Long-Awaited Dream Realized

Alferink and Stijn first shared their plans for Bar Boel in June 2025, describing it as an informal coffee spot. Wonen360 notes that Alferink expressed excitement about the project, stating, “What long ago was a dream of both of us is now becoming particularly realistic!”

Location and Anticipation

Bar Boel will be situated on the Karel de Preterlei in Deurne-Zuid, Antwerp. Gazet van Antwerpen reports that Alferink and Stijn are eager to welcome customers, with Alferink stating, “We are so looking forward to it!”
