Daegu Supports Local Food Manufacturers with 2026 Customized Support Project

Daegu City is launching the ‘2026 Food Manufacturer Customized Support Project’ to ease the financial strain on small and medium-sized food businesses grappling with inflation and economic challenges, even as simultaneously boosting their product competitiveness.

Project Focus Areas

The project centers around two key areas: support for self-quality inspection costs and assistance with participation in food fairs.

Self-Quality Inspection Cost Support

Daegu City will provide financial assistance of up to 200,000 KRW per company to 50 small food manufacturers with annual sales under 1 billion KRW. This support aims to alleviate the burden of mandatory self-quality inspections.

Food Fair Participation Support

The city will likewise offer support for booth fees to small and medium-sized food manufacturers looking to expand their sales channels through participation in domestic food fairs. Approximately 10 companies with sales under 50 billion KRW will be selected to receive up to 2 million KRW per company in support.

Past Successes

A similar support project implemented last year demonstrated positive results. All 127 companies that received support for self-quality inspections passed inspection, achieving a 100% compliance rate. Participation in food fairs, such as the Seoul International Liquor Expo and Busan Cafe Show, generated approximately 34 million KRW in on-site sales and led to the signing of 18 new contracts worth 18.5 million KRW.

Interested companies can discover detailed project information on the Daegu City website under ‘Notices/Notices’ starting March 16th, 2026, and submit their applications accordingly.
