Daile Theater Announces Performance Rescheduling Due to Stage Maintenance

Riga, Latvia – The Daile Theater has announced rescheduling of several performances due to essential maintenance required on the stage platforms of its Great Hall. The changes impact performances of “Forest Swans,” “Nachtland,” and “He Said, She Said.”

Performance Updates

The April 11 performance of “Forest Swans” has been moved to May 21 at 7:00 PM. Tickets purchased for the original date will remain valid, and assigned seating will not be affected.

As a result of the “Forest Swans” rescheduling, the performance of “Nachtland” originally scheduled for May 21 is now being offered earlier, on March 26. Audiences holding tickets for “He Said, She Said” can now attend the performance on May 6 or May 15.

For those unable to attend the rescheduled performances, options are available for refunds or exchanges.

Daile Theater Director Juris Žagars explained that the stage mechanisms in the Great Hall have remained largely unchanged since the theater’s opening in 1977. He noted the challenges in securing sufficient funding for a complete overhaul, stating that approximately 10 million euros would be required to replace the aging equipment.

“Regular repairs are necessary to ensure the safe operation of the stage floor platform lifting equipment,” Žagars stated. “Preventive repairs and additional rehearsals are crucial, especially with the extensive use of moving platforms in new productions.”
