Mr. Dallas Roger Dye, Sr., age 80, of Swords Creek, Virginia passed away Monday (February 9, 2026) at his home. Born September 27, 1945 in Swords Creek, Virginia, he was a son of the late Bill Lee and Lona Hess Dye. He was of the Pentecostal faith and was veteran of the United States Army reserves, serving for four years. He had spent his early life in the Swords Creek area, before moving to Bucyrus, Ohio, where he was employed by Crawford Steel for eleven years. He moved back to Swords Creek and had worked as a coal miner for thirty-two years. He enjoyed working outside, Nascar, and fishing, but most of all spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Tina Louise Dye Cooper; siblings, Sherman Lee Dye and his wife, Reba, Verl William Dye, and Helen Keene; and one daughter-in-law, Jennifer Dye.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-three years, Judy Perkins Dye of the home; four children, Dallas Roger Dye of Honaker, Michael Dean Dye and wife, Adrin, Donna Denise Leith and husband, Vick of Huntersville, North Carolina, and Pamela Regina Brown and husband, Robert of Richlands; brother, Doug Dye and wife, Judy of Swords Creek; sister-in-law, Lois Dye; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Gerald Lester and Rev. Rodney Wolford officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday at Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands, Virginia. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 10:30 AM to go in procession.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
