everything changed on Sunday when he released his medical reports and branded Gane a ‘big cheater.’
Do you understand why Tom Aspinall could not continue at UFC 321?
Aspinall’s medical report details significant damage to his eye socket. The report confirms orbital soft-tissue trauma, impaired binocular coordination, restricted ocular motility, and bilateral traumatic Brown’s eye syndrome, which indicates a disruption of the superior oblique muscle tendon.
The heavyweight contender alleges that Gane intentionally fouled him during their bout. While the referee ruled the strike unintentional, Aspinall vehemently disagrees, claiming Gane knew exactly what he was doing.
“He knew what he was doing,” Aspinall posted on social media alongside his medical report. “Big cheater.”
The incident occurred late in the first round when Gane landed a strike that appeared to catch Aspinall flush on the eye. Aspinall immediately went down, and the fight was stopped shortly after.
The UFC has yet to comment on Aspinall’s accusations. It remains to be seen whether any further action will be taken regarding the incident.
