Dang Thi Linh: From Determination to Glory in Beach Wrestling
In a remarkable display of resilience and skill, Vietnamese beach wrestler Dang Thi Linh etched her name into the annals of sports history by securing a gold medal at the 2026 World Beach Wrestling Championships in Da Nang, Vietnam. This achievement followed a silver medal in the women’s 70kg weight class at the 2026 Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China, marking a pivotal chapter in her career.
Dang Thi Linh’s journey to the pinnacle of beach wrestling began with humble roots. As a student in her hometown of Nga Son, Thanh Hoa province, she initially participated in school-based shot-put competitions. It was here that her potential was recognized by coach Nguyen Minh Duong, who recruited her into wrestling training. “At the time, I had no idea about wrestling or my future. It was through the guidance and support of my teachers that I felt a genuine connection to this sport,” Linh recalled.
