Daniel & Majella O’Donnell Exhibition Opens in County Kildare

On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, the Museum of Style Icons at Newbridge Silverware in County Kildare opened a new exhibition celebrating the life and career of singer Daniel O’Donnell and his wife Majella. Titled ‘Daniel & Majella O’Donnell – Music, Style and Memories’, the free-to-enter exhibition showcases a collection of stage costumes and personal memorabilia from both of their lives, on and off stage.

A special highlight of the exhibition is the display of the outfits worn by Daniel and Majella on their wedding day in November 2002 at St Mary’s Church in Kincasslagh, County Donegal. This includes Majella’s wedding dress and tiara, along with Daniel’s three-piece suit and wedding shoes.

The exhibition also features a selection of Daniel’s stage costumes, including distinctive jackets and performance outfits worn throughout his career. Among the unique items on display is a Fair Isle Aran sweater knitted by Daniel’s mother, Julia, which he wore when recording his first song, ‘My Donegal Shore’.

Additional items include framed gold discs recognising his record sales, Daniel’s framed Honorary MBE and the original ‘This Is Your Life’ book presented to him by television presenter Michael Aspel in the year 2000.

Speaking ahead of the opening, Daniel O’Donnell said he felt deeply honoured to see his career celebrated in such a unique setting. “It’s a great privilege to have this exhibition at the Museum of Style Icons at Newbridge Silverware,” he said. “Many of the outfits and items in the exhibition hold very special memories for me, so it’s lovely to see them brought together in one place.”

Hundreds of fans were expected to attend the opening event at 11.00am, where the couple were to meet visitors in the Showroom at Newbridge Silverware after unveiling the exhibition.
