Dark Matters IV: Minsk’s Indie Hub Celebrates Sci-Fi and Fantasy

This weekend, Minsk hosted the exhibition-convention “Dark Matters IV. Indie Hub,” a celebration of science fiction and fantasy in all its forms. Onliner visited the event, showcasing its appeal to Belarusian fans and the diverse pop culture heroes represented from games, comics, books, and anime.

Cosplay and Interactive Fan Booths

Cosplay was a central feature of the convention, with attendees embodying a wide array of characters. The event as well included 19 interactive fan booths dedicated to popular universes such as Naruto, Warhammer 40k, The Witcher, and Fallout.

Indie Games, Art, and Knowledge

Beyond cosplay, “Dark Matters IV” featured the “Indie Hub,” a space for independent developers of computer, mobile, and board games. Art enthusiasts explored the Art-lane exhibition-fair, showcasing the function of over 50 illustrators, comic book authors, and art groups. Attendees also had access to “Area 51,” a conference program with lectures on game design, neural networks, science, and mythology.

Interactive Quest and Event Details

An interactive cross-stand quest encouraged visitors to complete tasks at thematic stands, offering a chance to explore key locations and win prizes.

“Dark Matters IV. Indie Hub” continued through March 22nd at the Football Arena (20/2 Pobediteley Avenue), Minsk. The event was open from 12:00 to 19:00, with an admission fee and an age limit of 13+.
