Darkhaven: Ambitious ARPG Launches Kickstarter, Offers Early Access to Pre-Alpha Demo
Moon Beast Productions has officially launched its Kickstarter campaign for Darkhaven, a new multiplayer online action role-playing game (ARPG) aiming to blend classic gameplay with dynamic, player-driven world interaction. The campaign seeks $500,000 in funding and runs until March 20, 2026.
Dynamic World and Classic ARPG Elements
Darkhaven promises a fully procedurally generated, destructible sandbox world, allowing players to reshape the environment through digging, tunneling, and even altering natural features like lakes and lava flows. The game intends to combine this dynamic world with “Diablo-style progression, skills, and itemization,” according to the developers TechPowerUp. Players will have a high degree of mobility both in and out of combat, fostering free and open exploration.
Pre-Alpha Demo Available on Steam
Alongside the Kickstarter launch, Moon Beast Productions has released a pre-alpha demo on Steam. The demo provides access to one game class with six abilities across three development trees, playable up to level 8. Although character progression halts at level 8, players can continue exploring the game world. The developers emphasize that the demo is an “unfiltered version” of their work, showcasing the core mechanics and ambitious ideas behind Darkhaven TechPowerUp.
Funding Goals and Early Access Timeline
The Kickstarter funding will be allocated to expanding the game’s content, including the development of additional character classes and skills, a larger roster of enemies, enriching the game’s lore with NPCs and quests, and adding more diverse biomes and environmental events TechPowerUp.
Moon Beast Productions anticipates launching Darkhaven in Steam Early Access around Q4 2026. Backer rewards include a Steam copy of the game for pledges of $40 or more, along with a special role on the official Discord server. Higher pledge tiers offer physical rewards, potentially increasing in quantity based on the total funds raised RPGamer.
Kickstarter Progress
As of February 16, 2026, the Kickstarter campaign had already raised $79,906, halfway through its first day of funding TechPowerUp.
