DBU to Host NCAA Division II South Central Regional Championship

For the second consecutive year, Dallas Baptist University (DBU) will host the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Championship, beginning Saturday, March 14, at the Burg Center. DBU earned the top seed in the regional after winning both the Lone Star Conference (LSC) regular season and tournament championships.

Regional Bracket Overview

The eight-team bracket features a strong representation from the LSC, with six of the eight teams hailing from the conference. Joining DBU are No. 2 seed Eastern New Mexico, No. 3 seed Lubbock Christian, No. 4 seed Western New Mexico, No. 5 seed St. Edward’s, and No. 7 seed St. Mary’s. The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference is represented by No. 6 seed Black Hills State and No. 8 seed Colorado Mesa.

Quarterfinal Matchups

The quarterfinals on March 14 will see top-seed DBU face Colorado Mesa, a rematch of a November 14th game decided by a single point. The winner will advance to play the winner of Western New Mexico versus St. Edward’s. In the other half of the bracket, second-seed Eastern New Mexico will take on St. Mary’s, with the victor facing either Lubbock Christian or Black Hills State.

Championship Schedule

The semifinals are scheduled for Sunday, March 15, and the championship game will be played on Tuesday, March 17. Specific game times will be announced at a later date. The winner of the South Central Regional will advance to the Elite Eight in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
