The community is mourning the loss of Bridget O’Dowd (née Farrelly), who passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026. A resident of Castan, Doughiska, Galway City, and formerly of Oldcastle, Co. Meath, Bridget died while in the care of staff at University Hospital Galway. She is remembered as a kind and gentle soul.

Family and Loved Ones

Bridget was the beloved wife of Willie. She is survived by her son, Alan, daughter-in-law Tina, and grandchildren Max and Gracie. She is also survived by her sister Mollie and brothers Connie, Paddy, Michael, Gerard, and Peter, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Connie and Margaret, and her brother, Brian.

• Reposing: Wednesday, April 15, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm at Irwin’s Funeral Home, Bóthar Irwin (H91 CK84).
• Requiem Mass: Thursday, April 16, at 12:30 pm at The Decent Shepherd Church, Doughiska (H91 DKF7).
• Cremation Service: Thursday, April 16, at 3:00 pm at Shannon Crematorium, County Clare (V14 PV30).
