Teresa Gallagher, known formerly as Teresa Dillane, passed away peacefully at her home on September 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Hailing from Leahies, Foynes, County Limerick, and formerly of Asdee, County Kerry, she had also spent time receiving care at St. Ita’s Hospital in Newcastle West and the Dromcollogher Respite Centre.
Funeral Arrangements and Mass Details
According to notices published by Madigan’s Funeral Directors, reposing will take place at St. Senan’s Church in Foynes on Sunday, September 27, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A Requiem Mass will be held at St. Senan’s Church on Monday, September 28, at 12:00 noon, followed by burial in Knockpatrick Cemetery. The family has requested that the service be live-streamed for those unable to attend in person, with the link to be provided.
Family and Tributes
Predeceased by her parents, Nora and Michael, her sisters Kitty Fitzgerald and Mary Ann Daly, and her brother Tony Dillane, Mrs. Gallagher is survived by her husband, Michael, and her sons, John, Keith, and Brian. She also leaves behind her daughters-in-law Eileen Cassidy, Antoinette Roche, and Maria Deery, as well as grandchildren Megan, Michael, Seranne, Ellie, Kaitlyn, and Therese, and great-granddaughter Anna. Additional surviving family members include her brothers Joe, David, and Micheál, sister-in-law Marion, and brothers-in-law Thomas and Denis.
