Perth Langley Park Air Show Scheduled for 2027
Perth’s Langley Park will host a free Royal Australian Air Force air show in 2027, featuring acrobatics and high-speed jets against the backdrop of the Swan River, Veterans’ Affairs and Defence Personnel Minister Matt Keogh announced. “Our aviators are ready to come back to Perth and put on an unforgettable show, an awe-inspiring display of the sophisticated air power of our Air Force and its people,” Air Commodore Mick Gray said of the upcoming event.
Defence and Veterans Day Draws Thousands at Perth Royal Show
The 2027 announcement arrived during the Perth Royal Show’s Defence and Veterans’ Day on October 1, which drew more than 30,000 spectators. Attendees explored the Defence Hub to meet representatives from the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Army, RAAF, and partner agencies to learn about military careers. The event also featured a simulated warfighting scenario where a 79 Squadron Hawk 127 lead-in fighter initiated a firepower demonstration, while 10th Light Horse Regiment protected mobility vehicles provided support fire for 13th Brigade infantry personnel.
Military Capabilities on Display for Western Australians
Commander 13th Brigade Brigadier Damian Bushell said the annual exhibition remains a key avenue for the Australian Defence Force to connect directly with the public. “The Perth Royal Show provides one of the largest opportunities each year for Defence to engage directly with Western Australians,” Brigadier Bushell said, noting that the engagement helps citizens view military capabilities and understand ongoing ADF operations.
