Devin Booker Suffers Ankle Sprain, Expected to Miss at Least a Week

Phoenix, AZ – Phoenix Suns star guard Devin Booker is expected to miss at least one week after sustaining a right ankle sprain during Friday night’s 110-103 loss to the atlanta Hawks. The team announced Booker will be re-evaluated in seven days before sunday’s game against the Miami Heat.

The injury occured with just five seconds remaining in the third quarter when Booker stepped on the foot of Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu. The Suns confirmed the sprain and subsequent timeline for re-evaluation.

Booker, a four-time all-Star, is currently leading the Suns in scoring with an average of 25.4 points per game, alongside 6.2 assists. His absence represents a significant blow to Phoenix’s playoff aspirations.

Adding to the Suns’ injury woes, guard Jalen Green also suffered a setback on Friday,re-injuring his right hamstring. Green had recently returned to action after missing 33 games with a previous hamstring strain. While the severity of Green’s latest injury is still being assessed, he was reportedly walking without a noticeable limp following the game, offering some optimism that it may not be a long-term issue.

The Suns will need to rely on other key players to step up in Booker’s absence as they navigate a challenging stretch of games. Updates on both Booker and green’s conditions will be provided as they become available.
