Diablo: Unbound Board Game Announced by Glass Cannon Unplugged

The dark fantasy universe of Sanctuary is expanding to the tabletop with Diablo: Unbound, a licensed cooperative and solo dungeon-battler announced by publisher Glass Cannon Unplugged. Designed for one to four players, the upcoming board game combines campaign progression and randomized loot mechanics across multi-level adventures.

Diablo: Unbound features three-act campaigns and four classes

Glass Cannon Unplugged structured Diablo: Unbound around a three-act campaign, with each act containing three distinct dungeon levels. Players explore these environments, clear out enemies, and gather experience points and equipment before confronting a final boss. Individual sessions take between 60 and 90 minutes to complete, while finishing an entire act requires up to 4.5 hours of playtime.

Combat roles allow participants to choose from four distinct classes: Barbarian, Rogue, Paladin, and Sorceress. These heroes face off against adversaries, including Khazra, demons, and the undead. Equipment acquisition functions as a central gameplay pillar, with randomized loot dropped by elite enemies, hidden inside chests, or awarded for completing side quests and accomplishing kill streaks.

Gamefound campaign launches in 2027 with Torment mode

The crowdfunding campaign for Diablo: Unbound will launch on Gamefound during the first quarter of 2027. Backers can expect standard platform incentives, including stretch goals, exclusive rewards, and unlockable content packages.

Upon completing the third act of the campaign, players unlock a “Torment” endgame mode. This feature allows groups to tackle any boss in its maximum power tier. Between major encounters, players utilize a “Town Phase” to redistribute loot, upgrade character skills, and adjust their builds for subsequent incursions.
