Beth Nixon Returns to Coronation Street Set
Megan, you’re a cow and I’ll miss you like a hole in the head,
actress Beth Nixon wrote on Instagram in July, bidding farewell to her character. Despite that departure, Digital Spy reported that Megan Walsh is returning to Coronation Street just months after her character was sent to prison. Show bosses have brought the former athletics coach back to the cobbles to explore another chapter of the grooming storyline involving teenager Will Driscoll.
ITV Bosses Bring Megan Back to Screen
Megan was sentenced to five years in prison in July after being convicted of sexually grooming student Will Driscoll, a plot that began when the character arrived on the street in November 2025 as an athletics coach. Although the character vowed to appeal her sentence, ITV bosses decided to bring her back to screen later this year. According to The Sun, actress Beth Nixon was spotted filming scenes on the ITV set, interacting with cast members including Lucas Hodgson-Wale, who plays Will, Catherine Tyldsley as Eva, and Pauline McLynn as Maggie. An ITV spokesperson did not comment when approached about the comeback.
Character Impact and Family Fallout on the Cobbles
Show insiders indicate that Will Driscoll has been attempting to rebuild his life following the abuse. The upcoming episodes will examine whether Will comes face-to-face with Megan directly or if her return impacts other members of his family. Speaking previously on the Inside Soap Soap Scoop podcast, Beth Nixon explained that her character was never intended to escape justice by being killed off. Instead, the storyline deliberately chose to follow the legal process and show the emotional toll on Will’s family as they navigate the aftermath.
Cast Reactions and Co-Star Comments
Following her social media post, many followers and co-stars rushed to the comments section. Jude Riordan, who plays Sam Blakeman in the show, wrote: Yes Beth.
Eva Price legend Catherine Tyldesley wrote: We love you! Outstanding!!!!
Farrel Hegarty, who plays Lou Michaelis, commented: Amazing you are.
