Danis Accepts Tsarukyan’s Callout, Covington Set for Wrestling Match at RAF 7

Tampa, Florida, is set to host a compelling combat sports event on March 28th as RAF 7 takes shape with two notable matchups: a grappling contest between Dillon Danis and Arman Tsarukyan, and a wrestling bout featuring Colby Covington against an as-yet-unnamed opponent.

Danis and Tsarukyan Agree to a Grappling Match

Following Arman Tsarukyan’s recent victory at Hype FC, where he secured a submission win over Muhammad Mokaev, he issued a challenge to Dillon Danis. Danis promptly accepted the challenge via X (formerly Twitter), stating, “I accept. @ArmanUfc I’ll witness you soon,” and adding the comment “free money.”

Tsarukyan had called for the match after being granted permission by the UFC to compete outside of the octagon whereas awaiting his return to the promotion. He specifically targeted Danis, known for his grappling expertise, stating, “Reach on bro, let’s make this happen.”

Both fighters are scheduled to compete at RAF 7 in Tampa, with Tsarukyan already slated to rematch Georgio Poullas, a fight previously marred by controversy and a post-show brawl.

Covington to Face Danis in Wrestling Match

In a separate announcement, it was revealed that former UFC welterweight title challenger Colby Covington will face Dillon Danis in a wrestling match at RAF 7. Covington is known for his aggressive style and outspoken personality, while Danis has gained notoriety for stirring up trouble at combat sports events and his grappling background as a training partner of Conor McGregor.

Covington recently secured a technical fall victory over Luke Rockhold in a wrestling match at RAF 5 in January. Danis, meanwhile, recently became the Misfits MMA light heavyweight champion with a submission win over Warren Spencer last year. He also competed in a boxing match against Logan Paul in 2023, which ended in a brawl after Danis applied a headlock.

Prior to this, Danis competed twice in MMA from 2018 to 2019, winning both bouts via submission under the Bellator banner.

RAF 7 Headlined by Tsarukyan vs. Poullas Rematch

The main event of RAF 7 will be a rematch between Arman Tsarukyan and Georgio Poullas. Their previous encounter at RAF 6 last month was contentious, with Poullas accused of multiple fouls, leading to a post-fight altercation where Tsarukyan struck Poullas after securing a points victory.
